Note:  As mentioned in last weekʻs column, Jupiter and Saturn make their closest visible approach to Earth since the Middle Ages. This great alignment (within 5 degrees of each other) continues through January — and then won’t be seen again until 2080.

This conjunction is favorable primarily for Aries, Libra, Scorpio and Sagittarius rising signs, while it gives mixed results for Gemini, Leo and Aquarius rising signs — as this takes place in their 8^th, 6^th, and 12^th (inauspicious houses), respectively.

Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Capricorn and Pisces rising sign persons, companies and countries, including (USA) should be careful and patient — as at least one of these two planets operates as a functional malefic planet for these rising signs.

Where the Vedic Astrology Planets are this Week

Sun transits Sagittarius, from 08:44 to 15:52°.  Sun is outside the orb of influence of other planets. This connects leaders, presidents, physicians, administrators and governments with law, religion and education.

Moon is waxing and transits Aries, Taurus and Gemini.  The full Moon is in Gemini, Dec. 29^th at 9:28 p.m. CST.

Mars transits its own sign of Aries, from 00:01 to 02:53°.  This is a major improvement for Mars, which had been under the 5^th aspect of Ketu since mid-August!   Expect relief for surgeons, athletes, the military, police, property, construction, engineering, executives, et al. Fires and conflicts should start to dissipate.

Astrology Forecast Mars in Aries

Mercury transits Sagittarius from 11:04 to 22:20°. This should be favorable and connects stocks, business, writing, research, literature, technology and intellectual property with law, religion and education.

Jupiter transits its debilitation sign, Capricorn, from 06:53 to 08:27°.  Now, out of infant state and in stronger degrees, there should be improvement for law, religion, education, publishing, teaching and consulting. Jupiter is closely conjunct Saturn through January. Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Capricorn and Pisces rising sign persons, companies and countries, including (USA) should exercise a great deal of patience.

Venus transits Scorpio, from 16:33 to 25:19°. Venus is closely conjunct Ketu, Dec. 26 – Jan. 3. Take care of and be patient with women, romance, travel, medicine, luxuries, entertainment, and the fine, healing or performing arts. Connect same with spiritual practices for best results.

Saturn transits its own sign, Capricorn, from 06:36 to 07:23°. This is a strong position for Saturn and should be helpful for the elderly, the masses, working-class persons and the poor and needy. (Social Security announces an increase in payments for 2021.) Gemini, Leo and Aquarius rising signs, however, should be careful and patient as Saturn is transiting their 8^th, 6^th, and 12^th (inauspicious) houses, respectively.

Saturn is closely conjunct (within 5 degrees of) Jupiter through January. Taurus, Cancer, and Capricorn rising sign persons, companies and countries, including (USA) should be careful and patient. Cancer, Virgo and Pisces rising sign persons, companies, and countries (including USA) should also be vigilant whenever Saturn is within 5 degrees of any of their planets or rising sign degree, by aspect or conjunction.

Rahu and Ketu transit Taurus and Scorpio, respectively and stationary, from 25:45 to 25:46°. Persons, companies and countries with a rising sign between 26 and 24 degrees — or with any planets in even signs (Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn and Pisces) between these same degrees, should be careful and patient through mid-Feb.

The Impact of the Transit Planets for each “Rising Sign” (not “Sun Sign”)

Aries: Be patient with partnerships and joint ventures through Jan. 2^nd. Expect a lift in your life, along with good fortune with your children, education and investments. Things should pretty much go your way through Feb. 20^th. Focus on yoga and sports. Be direct and courageous. Income, friendships and good fortune support your career – teach, publish and advise — through March.  Mars, ruling your chart, transits favorable houses through Sept. 4.

Taurus: Continue to lay low and expect less. Be patient with relationships to manage debts and disputes through Jan. 2^nd. Take care of your children, education and investments through Jan. 3^rd. Be patient with setbacks with property, vehicles and home life through mid-Jan. There may be obstructions with your career — and be careful to avoid accidents at work through mid-Jan. On the other hand, a professional windfall or legal/insurance settlement is also possible.

Gemini: Take care of pets, children, education and investments through Jan. 2^nd to manage debts, disputes or health issues. Connect property, vehicles and home life with partnerships through Jan. 4^th – and entrepreneurial ventures with partnerships through Jan. 13^th.  Progress is likely with income and friendships through Feb. 20^th. Joint and international ventures, however, remain vulnerable through March.

Cancer:  Invest in property, vehicles, home life and luxuries. Your mind is creative; study the fine, healing or performing arts. Be vigilant with communications, siblings and entrepreneurial ventures – these are vulnerable to debts, disputes, health or legal issues. Take care of your health, finances, marriage, windfalls and inheritance.  These are vulnerable through Jan. Expect progress with your professional life through Feb. 20.

Leo: Beautify your home, consider a new car, and work on entrepreneurial ventures. Focus on your children, education, investments, spiritual pursuits and entrepreneurial ventures – but be vigilant with these to manage debts, disputes, health or legal issues. Study writing, literature, business, technology and communications. Expect progress, good fortune, and/or long-distance travel through Feb. 20^th.  Divine grace is with you through May.

Virgo: Focus on property, vehicles and home life – but be patient with expenses or separations with same. Work out of your home on writing, business, technology, communications and intellectual property. Expect success with entrepreneurial ventures connected with women and the fine, healing or performing arts. For some of you, there may be a marriage, inheritance, windfall, or legal or insurance settlement before Feb. 20^th.

Libra: Focus on your wealth, status and family life. Speak sweetly and on spiritual matters and practices. Expect both income and expenses with your self-initiatives. Work out of your home on independent consulting, teaching and publishing projects — connected with children, education and investments. Marriage, partnerships, joint and international ventures should do well through Feb. 20^th.

Scorpio: Expect progress at work and with income and friendships. Speak up as an authority figure and focus on writing, business, technology, and communications. Consider a haircut and buy new clothes. Be patient with expenses and separations — and consider a retreat or international venture.
