Planetary Transits for January 7 – January 13

Notes: In the SAMVA chart for USA, it appears the recent delays to the confirmation of President-Elect Bidenʻs victory, along with the attempted insurrection, are largely due to the transit influence of Rahu and Ketu on natal Saturn, ruling the 8^th house of obstructions and deathlike experiences. This impact begins to dissipate on Jan. 18^th, with more relief on Feb. 9^th.

Additionally, Jupiter, ruling law and morality, is transiting its debilitation sign, in close conjunction with Saturn, the Most Malefic Planet for the countryʻs chart. This impact begins to dissipate on Jan. 17^th, with more relief on Jan. 25^th.

On a positive note, transit Rahu and Ketu are NOT causing any problems worldwide for transit planets. This should help reduce the chance for grave international mishaps and misfortunes.

Where the Vedic Astrology Planets are this Week

Sun transits out of Sagittarius and into Capricorn, Jan. 13^th at 8:44 p.m., CST. Sun is outside the orb of other planets. This continues to connect leaders, presidents, physicians, administrators and governments with law, religion and education.

Moon is waxing and transits Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius and into Capricorn. Moon, in Scorpio, is debilitated, Jan. 8 – 10. Watch your emotional state and be vigilant around volatile persons. The new Moon (new beginnings) is in Capricorn, Jan. 12^th at 10:59 p.m. CST.

Mars transits its own (mooltrikona) sign, Aries, from 05:59 to 09:18°, and is outside the influence of other planets. This is a powerful position for Mars, which should be favorable for athletes, surgeons, executives, the military and police, construction, engineering, property matters, et al. In the chart for USA, this supports the workplace, professional pursuits, and the field of action (karma).

Mercury transits Capricorn from 03:48 to 15:10°. This is favorable and connects stocks, business, writing, research, literature, technology and intellectual property with manufacturing, agriculture, and oil, gas & minerals, along with the masses, the elderly and working-class persons. Mercury is closely conjunct Jupiter and Saturn until Jan. 13^th. Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Capricorn and Pisces rising signs persons, companies and countries (including USA) should be careful and patient.

Jupiter transits its debilitation sign, Capricorn, from 10:04 to 11:42°. Jupiter is weak in debilitation, but retains strength due to favorable degrees. Jupiter is closely conjunct Mercury until Jan. 13^th. Aries, Libra and Aquarius rising signs persons, companies and countries should be careful and patient. Jupiter is closely conjunct Saturn through Jan. Cancer, Virgo, and Pisces rising sign persons, companies and countries (including USA) should be careful and patient.

Venus transits Sagittarius, from 04:05 to 12:52. This is favorable and connects women, romance, travel, medicine, luxuries, entertainment, and the fine, healing or performing arts with law, religion, children, education, teaching, publishing and advisory roles.

Saturn transits its own sign, Capricorn, from 08:11 to 09:01°. This is a strong position for Saturn and should be helpful for the elderly, the masses, working-class persons and the poor and needy. Gemini, Leo and Aquarius rising signs should be careful and patient as Saturn is transiting their 8^th, 6^th, and 12^th (inauspicious) houses, respectively. Saturn is closely conjunct Mercury until Jan. 13^th. Cancer, Virgo, and Pisces rising signs persons, companies and countries (including USA) should be careful and patient.

Persons, companies and countries with a rising sign between 26 and 24 degrees — or with any planets in even signs (Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn and Pisces) between these same degrees, should be careful and patient through mid-Feb.
