Monday September 23rd marks the Autumnal Equinox and the beginning of shorter days as we head into the darkness of the winter months. Sun is in the grounded and practical earth sign of Virgo on the equinox which asks us to focus on the small details and be honest about where we are now verses where we were on the last equinox (in April) which is considered to be the start of the astrological new year.
The fall equinox is the halfway point through the astrological year and it’s the time where we start to see our goals take on real progress. However, with this long lived Saturn/Ketu conjunction which started just before the last equinox on April 5th and won’t end until October 18th, you may be feeling as if you’ve been moving through tar! We must be vigilant, especially until October 8th as Saturn and Ketu are now within 1 degree of each other.
In good news, the fall Equinox in Virgo can help you feel more grounded and like you’re able to get your bearing finally. Fall is the start of a new season so even if things have been difficult, grab a cup of tea, cozy up on your sofa with a journal, and write down your goals to focus on between now and January 1st.
