Astroview Report

Planetary Transits for January 15th — February 14th

(Interpretations are based on the Systems’ Approach to Vedic Astrology)

Note:  This report is published on the 15th of each month. This coincides with the transit of the Sun, which changes signs around the middle of every month – following the same pattern every year. “Watching the Sun” is a helpful guide for your monthly activities.

Last 2-Months’ Predictions:

Mars is in its debilitation sign, Cancer, until January 20th – and is under the close fifth aspect of Rahu, for the duration. This is likely to cause serious disturbances through the presidential inauguration – relative to war, police, military, national security, and property matters – such as fires, floods, volcanoes, earthquakes, and weather-related problems.

Headlines During this Transit:  South Korea’s President Declares Martial Law; Syrian Rebels Topple Assad’s 24-Year Authoritarian Regime; Malibu Residents Flee as Wildfire Swallows Homes; Romania’s Top Court Annuls Presidential Results; South Korea’s Parliament Votes to Impeach the President; Tel Aviv Hit by Missile Fired from Yemen; California Wildfires Rage — Death Toll Climes, Fresh Evacuations; more than 12,000 homes and businesses destroyed, at least 25 dead; More than 6 million people in Southern California under a critical fire threat; Donald Trump’s choice for defense secretary, Pete Hegseth, vows to foster a “warrior culture” at the Pentagon.

Planetary Transits

Sun transits Capricorn until February 12th at 10:26 a.m. CST. Sun is under seventh aspect of Mars until January 19th.  This connects the government with police, military, and property matters.  Sun is under the fifth aspect of Ketu until January 23rd. This brings setbacks with government matters.  Sun is under the ninth aspect of Jupiter, January 26th to February 5th. This connects the government with law, banking, education, advisory roles and religious matters.

Moon transits Cancer — through the full zodiac and into Virgo. The full (Snow) Moon is in Cancer on February 12th at 7:53 a.m. CST. Moon, in Scorpio, is in its debilitation sign, January 23rd – 25th. Watch your emotional state and be vigilant in crowds and around volatile people.

Mars is in retrograde motion and transits out of its debilitation sign, Cancer, and into Gemini January 20th at 10:25 p.m. CST. This should bring relief from the past three months of disturbances with war, fire, police, military, athletes, executives, earth and property matters. This should also be helpful for Leo, Sagittarius, and Aquarius rising signs.   Mars is in Gemini, January 20th – April 2nd.

Mercury transits out of Sagittarius and into Capricorn, January 24th at 6:10 a.m., CST. Mercury remains in Capricorn until February 11th.

Jupiter transits Taurus, from 17:40 to 17:16°. Jupiter is in retrograde motion until February 4th. Retrograde planets have adverse effects only when they are a functional malefic planet for any rising sign – and only when they are within five degrees of the rising sign degree, or other planets by aspect or conjunction. In this case, Jupiter is a functional malefic planet only for Taurus, Cancer and Capricorn rising signs. (Feel free to ask for links to my educational materials if you want to study the Systems’ Approach to Vedic Astrology paradigm.)

Jupiter is outside the orb of influence of other planets and remains in the sign of Taurus until May 14, 2025. This connects law, religion, banking, and education with slow-paced and intellectual significations.

Venus transits out of Aquarius, and into its exaltation sign, Pisces, January 27th at 7:33 p.m. Due to a retrograde motion (March 1st – April 11th), Venus remains in Pisces for 17 weeks — through May 31st. This will be more favorable for Gemini, Cancer, Virgo, Sagittarius, Capricorn and Aquarius rising signs. Aries, Leo, and Libra rising signs, however, should exercise patience, as Venus will be in their twelfth, eighth, and sixth (inauspicious) houses, respectively. Venus will be closely conjunct Rahu, January 26th – February 7th. Take care of the women in your life, and be patient with the weather, transportation, and the fine, healing (medicine), and performing arts.

Saturn transits its own sign, Aquarius, from 21:31 to 24:40°. This supports the masses, the elderly, the poor and needy, agriculture, and manufacturing, along with the oil, gas, and minerals industries. This should also (hopefully) protect Medicare and Social Security, etc.

Rahu and Ketu transit Pisces and Virgo, respectively, from 05:11 to 03:31°, Those with “even-numbered” rising signs, (Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn, and Pisces) should be careful and patient whenever Rahu and Ketu are within 5° of their rising sign degree (in any house or sign), or within 5° of any planet in either the birth chart or the transit chart — in even signs.

Rahu and Ketu are stationary in the 3-degree range, January 31st – April 14th. This prolonged 11-week position can escalate over time and cause a great deal of stress worldwide. Exercise care and patience — and redouble your spiritual practices and planetary remedial measures.
