Planetary Transits August 5 – August 11

(Interpretations based on the Systemsʻ Approach to Vedic Astrology)

Prediction from June 10 weekly column:

“Be especially vigilant during July and August, when Saturn is two degrees or less from the ninth aspect of Rahu. (There may be more problems with Covid-19 and/or other viruses.)”

Recent news: “New global Covid-19 cases have been increasing for more than a month and the world is on track to hit more than 200 million cases next week.”

Note: Be vigilant during August and September; as Saturn remains under the close influence of Rahu. The impact is relative to Covid-19, the masses, the elderly, immigrants, working-class persons, agriculture, manufacturing and the oil, gas and minerals industries – along with things of the earth, including fires, floods, tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, weather issues, etc.

Sun transits Cancer, from 18:51-25:33°. This connects presidents, leaders, physicians, administrators and government officials with creativity, compassion and public service. Sun is in good strength and moves away from the influence of Saturn, which should be helpful for Cancer, Virgo and Pisces rising sign persons.

Moon is waxing/waning and transits Gemini, Cancer, Leo, and into Virgo. The new Moon is in Cancer, August 8.

Mars transits Leo, from 9:50-14:15°. Mars is in good strength and outside the orb of influence of other planets. This should be favorable for the military, police, athletes, surgeons, executives, competition and property matters.

Mercury transits out of Cancer and into Leo, August 8. Mercury is weak in degrees. Be patient with stocks, finances, business, technology, communications and intellectual property. Mercury is under the seventh aspect of Jupiter August 8-13. Taurus, Cancer, and Capricorn rising sign persons, companies and countries (including USA) should be careful and patient.

Jupiter transits Aquarius from 4:57-4:05°. Jupiter is retrograde until October 18. The adverse effects are primarily for Taurus, Cancer and Capricorn rising sign persons — but only when Jupiter is within five degrees of their rising sign degree (in any house) or another planet by aspect or conjunction, in either the birth chart or transit chart. Jupiter is under the seventh aspect of Mercury Aug 8-13. Aries, Libra, and Aquarius rising sign persons, companies, and countries should be careful and patient.

Venus transits out of Leo and into Virgo, August 11. Venus is outside the orb of influence of other planets, but is weak in degrees until Aug. 15. Be patient with women, medicine, finance, luxuries, entertainment, and the fine, healing and performing arts.

Saturn transits its own sign, Capricorn from 15:48-15:17°. Saturn is under the ninth aspect of Rahu until October 15. (See NOTE above.) Saturn is also in retrograde motion until October 10th. Retrograde Saturn is adverse primarily only for Cancer, Virgo and Pisces rising sign persons, companies and countries (including USA) – but only when Saturn is within five degrees of the rising sign degree (in any house) or another planet by aspect or conjunction, in either the birth chart or transit chart.

Rahu and Ketu transit Taurus and Scorpio, respectively, from 14:41-13:36°. People, companies and countries with a rising sign between 11 and 15 degrees — or with any planets in even signs (Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn and Pisces) in these same degrees, should exercise a great deal of care and patience.

The Impact of the Transit Planets for each “Rising Sign” (not “Sun Sign”)

Aries: Expect relief with pets, children, education and investments. Connect these with property, vehicles, home life, marriage, partnerships and joint ventures. Your mind is logical, creative and competitive. Study engineering, mathematics and/or the fine, healing and performing arts. Work hard and expect success with your career. Earn from teaching, publishing and consulting through Sept. 14.

Taurus: Focus on independent projects – connected with children, education, investments, authority figures and large organizations. On the other hand, be patient with short-lived debts, disputes, expenses and separations with property, vehicles and home life. Connect your career with research, knowledge, spirituality or long-distance travel until Sept. 14. Write, teach, publish, consult and advise in your professional life.

Gemini: Expect a lift with property, vehicles, home life and entrepreneurial ventures. Work on independent projects involving pets, children, education, investments and spiritual pursuits. Income and friendships may also do well. Remain patient with partnerships, joint ventures and long-distance travel, or living abroad through next April. For some of you, there may be a windfall, inheritance, marriage, legal or insurance settlement.

Cancer: Expect a lift with your career, property, vehicles and home life. Take a leadership position in life. Focus on writing, business, finance, communications, technology, and intellectual property. Connect teaching, publishing, and advisory roles with research and ancient knowledge. Remain vigilant, however, to avoid or manage debts, disputes, and setbacks due to accidents, relationships, health or legal issues through Sept. 14.

Leo: Lay low and get extra rest. Consider a retreat or long-distance venture and focus on your spiritual practices through mid-August. For some of you, there may be losses, expenses, separations, or hospitalization. Be vigilant when speaking to avoid problems. Divine grace is likely on your side. Independent projects remain forefront. Connect education, investments and creative projects with partnerships, and joint ventures – but also protect these from debts, disputes, health or legal issues through Sept. 14.

Virgo: Focus on income and friendships. Gain from writing, business, finance, technology and communications. Be patient, however, with expenses and separations. There may be losses connected with property, windfalls, accidents, inheritance, or the marital bond. Be careful when speaking and with your diet. Make sure assets, investments, and home life are safeguarded against fire, debts, theft, disputes, cheating, or legal issues through September 14.

Libra: Focus on income, siblings and friendships – connected with property, marriage, partnerships, joint ventures and foreign lands. Take a leadership position at work and connect with authority figures and large organizations, but be patient with short-lived expenses and separations in the workplace. Independent projects are likely associated with children, education, investments, property, vehicles, home life and spiritual pursuits through Sept. 14.

Scorpio: Expect good fortune with income, friendships and your professional life– but be patient with short-lived debts, disputes, setbacks, expenses and separations. Be careful to avoid accidents at work. Work out of your home on writing, teaching, publishing, advisory roles and independent projects – involving hard work, agriculture or manufacturing — through Sept. 14.

Sagittarius: Connect your career with research and knowledge. Be patient with setbacks, expenses and separations, and to avoid accidents at work. Focus on spiritual practices to add protective covering. Income and friendships may also be vulnerable. Expect relief after mid-August. Work on entrepreneurial ventures connected with writing, teaching publishing, and advisory roles through Sept. 14. There may be wealth and status associated with these activities.

Capricorn: Connect your career with research and knowledge – but be patient with setbacks and to avoid accidents at work. There may be similar issues with relationships through August 16. Property, vehicles and home life may also be vulnerable through September 5. Connect foreign lands, ashrams, long-distance travel and spiritual journeys – with your wealth, status, and family life through Sept. 14. Speak up as a teacher, publisher or consultant.

Aquarius: Be vigilant through August 16. Four planets are connected with debts, disputes, fire, theft, cheating and false allegations against you, along with health and legal issues. The problems should be short-lived. You may be restless, ambitious and charismatic, but do not take risks or chances through September. Expect income and friendships associated with independent projects. Teach, publish, and advise through September 14. Be patient, however, with expenses and separations with foreign lands, ashrams, and spiritual journeys.

Pisces: Connect partnerships and joint ventures with pets, children, education and investments – but be patient to manage debts, disputes, health or legal issues with same. Your mind is royal; think big. Consider investments in gold or government bonds. Study writing, finance, business, technology and communications. Connect your career with ashrams, spiritual journeys or international ventures through Sept. 14. There may also be losses, expenses or separations.
